The NC Division of Public Health is offering a limited number of bike amenity packages, which include one public work stand and two bike racks for North Carolina communities. Partial awards may be granted based on the number of available items. The public work stands are outdoor self-service repair stations with ADA-compliant design, providing tools that can be used for bikes and other wheeled devices. These amenities can be used to help support North Carolina communities promote physical activity opportunities. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to supporting active routes (e.g., bike lanes, multi-use trails) to everyday destinations. Examples of destinations include, but are not limited to schools, workplaces, libraries, parks, grocery stores, pharmacies, essential services, etc. Priority will be given to historically marginalized populations that can demonstrate how the items will increase opportunities for physical activity within their community.
Awardees will be required to pick up all amenities within 4 weeks of award notice and install amenities within 8 weeks of receipt.
