- Falls Lake: Holly Point & Shinleaf Group Campsites- 14500 New Light Rd, Wake Forest. 676.1027. (20 miles north)
- Jordan Lake: Poplar Point Campground, Beaver Creek Rd, Apex. lake@ncparks.gov (25 miles west of RCC; on east shore of Jordan Lake). Over 100 campsites (tent & RV) w/ showers & bathrooms. No exit/entry before 8 am or after 9 pm. $20 per night. Nearby campgrounds have no reservations (perhaps due to State Fair).
- Umstead State Park: Twenty-eight campsites, plus group camps and a cabin. Drinking water and restrooms with showers. https://www.ncparks.gov/william-b-umstead-state-park/camping. (13 mi. north of RCC)
Private – The Matthews Campground at 7625 Lake Wheeler Road. 919.868.7132. (9 miles southwest of RCC).
Travel trailers & RVS only (no tents). minimum 2 night stay at$40/night w/ power, water, sewer, wi-fi no bath.
