Completing our Streets…for All!
Early registration is now open through the end of August for the 6th Annual NC Bike/Walk Summit in Wilmington, NC hosted by BWNC in collaboration with AARP and Cape Fear Cyclists on Nov 3-4. We are excited for new topics such as:
- Facilitated discussions with advocates on how to make our organizations stronger to better advance bicycling and walking in our state.
- Health advocates to share their SRTS successes
- BikeShare Technology – implemented and being considered – roundtable
- Our state’s Vision Zero team from NCSU ITRE will be on hand to provide a primer and share resources to help you advocate for your town to adopt a Vision Zero initiative
We look forward to hearing from new leadership at NCDOT as well as new perspectives from AARP on age-friendly communities and liveability. The Wilmington Summit Planning Committee has been hard at work developing walking and bicycling mobile tours of downtown Wilmington and the UNC-Wilmington campus environs. You can do these on your own or guided at selected times. Transportation Professionals (open to all!) – please consider taking the Bicycling Traffic Skills Class on Nov 2nd.
